Locate the feature you'd like to learn about and then find the corresponding numbered explanation below.

  1. SMTP Server - Enter the name of your e-mail server here. You can get this information from your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
  2. To - Type the recipient's e-mail address here.
  3. From - Enter your e-mail address in the From field.
  4. Subject - Type the Subject line of the e-mail here.
  5. Short Message - Type the body of the e-mail here. (This message will not be saved when you reopen MEP or reload this saved profile.)
  6. FTP Server - The name of the FTP server that will receive your encrypted file.
  7. Directory - The Directory field tells MEP which directory on the FTP server to use to save your files. You will be asked to create this directory if it does not already exist.
  8. User Name - The User ID or login you use to access the FTP server.
  9. Password - The Password you use to access the FTP server.
  10. E-mail/FTP Logging - Check this box if you want to keep a log of MEP's e-mail and FTP activities. The log will be saved automatically to c:\meplogs\mailftplog.txt.
  11. SMTP Server requires login - Check this box if your mail server requires a user name and/or password to send mail.
  12. SMTP User Name - Enter your user name for your SMTP server here.
  13. SMTP Password - Enter the password for your SMTP server here.
  14. OK - Press the OK button to save changes.
  15. Cancel - Press the Cancel button to discard changes.
